Joan M Hayne Women’s Handicap Doubles - Sun. 14 June
Six intrepid pairs came together to celebrate women’s tennis at the RMTC in the Joan M Hayne Women’s Handicap Doubles Championship. It was a fantastic day with lots of tennis and many close matches. After a long morning of round robin games, two pairs eventually emerged as finalists. Robyn Woods and Prue Gordon were close to undefeated for the day but the toll of six sets of tennis showed in the final. Julia McCahey and Kate Leeming got stronger as the day went on as their partnership improved with practice and they won the final comfortably.
