Judith Clarke Cup (RMTC v HRTC) - Revised date

The ladies equivalent of the Percy Finch Racket, named after former World Champion Judith Clarke and played on an annual basis between Hobart and Melbourne. First introduced in 1992.
Judith Clarke was Australia’s first real tennis world champion (1985 & 1987) - initially playing at Hobart with Barry Toates and then at RMTC from 1973 with Lesley Ronaldson.

J.B. Box Trophy (Invitational)
Royal Melbourne Tennis Club | Sat, 5th Dec | 9:00 am
Open to legal professionals. The J. B. Box Trophy is the annual tournament between Barristers and Solicitors and is named after the Club's first President John Burnett Box, who was a Victorian County Court judge (when he wasn't on the tennis court - he was the Club's Gold Racket champion for the first 13 years).
In 1881, Messrs J. B. Box, D. Campbell, F. Murphy, R. Cornish & R. Travers decided to start a real tennis club and in 1882 the Melbourne Tennis Club opened at 345 Exhibition Street. J. B. Box would continue as President for the Club’s first 36 years.

The perpetual trophy was discovered at Leonard Joel Auctions and now features actual sandstone (in the base) from the old Exhibition Street court. It is named after Jeff Bird, held to be the monocular world champion and a man with “an almost mystical knack of winning these tournaments.” To be presented by Elaine Bird (if possible) at breakfast after tennis

Joey Cup - Jovial Tennis in Ballarat - Jan 2027

The Ballarat Tennis Club are excited to invite new friends and old to take part in one of Ballarat’s favourite summer tennis events: The Joey Cup.
This year’s tournament will be capped at 12 pairs, giving everyone plenty of court time across the three days.Those who have played The Joey before will know exactly what it is all about — plenty of tennis, competition, great food and camaraderie at the club.Places are limited, so if you’re interested in playing, get your entry in early.

Roo Trophy 2027 - Handicap Singles & Doubles
Royal Melbourne Tennis Club | Sat, 16th Jan | 9:30 am
The Singles event will be run in a knock-out format, with repechage. The Doubles event will be in a graded round-robin format, followed by knock-out. (Note: Singles format may change depending on entry numbers.)
Playing sessions will include morning, daytime and evening. Those who are working at this time of the year are encouraged to play and indicate their time preference in the section below or advise the tournament organisers (see below) of availability restrictions. We will try to do our best to accommodate preferences. Players who enter the Doubles without a partner will be paired, if possible, with a player of similar ability.
The Roo Trophy dinner will be held at the Club. -

It is all happening at Sydney Real Tennis Club! The Open Singles will be up to a maximum of the best sixteen players while the Open Doubles will be restricted to a maximum of the eight lowest handicapped pairs. Details to be confirmed.
