The Boomerang Cup 2023

7 - 21 January 2023

All real tennis clubs are invited to submit teams to play in the 2023 Boomerang Cup to be held at the Royal Melbourne Tennis Club.

The Boomerang Cup is the international amateur teams handicap doubles event which is normally played every two years in Melbourne. It was last played in January 2020 and we are keen to see teams from as many clubs as possible from France, UK, USA, Netherlands and Australia.

Over the past 2 years we have all been restricted in doing the things we really enjoy by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is time to treat ourselves and soak up the hospitality in vibrant Melbourne during summer, enjoy some great tennis, and for our international friends, have a break from the northern winter.

There are many other wonderful sporting events on around the Boomerang Cup to help make your trip even more memorable:

  • Australia v South Africa Boxing Day Cricket Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG): 26-30 December followed by 2 further tests in Australia
  • Australian Real Tennis Open at RMTC: 2 - 10 January 2022
  • Australian Tennis Open at Melbourne Park: 16-29 January
  • Socceroos play their 2022 World Cup qualifier against Vietnam at AAMI Park on 27 January

It is going to be a sports fest in Australia next summer. Now is the time to start planning and organise your team, lock in the dates, book flights, etc. We intend to have our online booking system live from the end of May 2022.

Further details regarding fees arrangements and entry forms will be published very shortly. Please note there will be a strict limit of 30 teams in total, so please register early so you don’t miss out.
