Wanted! Waiting Staff in January
The Club will be pumping in January with The Roo Cup, The World Masters, and The Australian Open. The Club needs some young-guns to help with waiting and bar service. Ideally suited to university aged sons and daughters of members. For further details about remuneration and days/times, please email Paul Andrews:
Our Club is very fortunate to have loyal and dedicated staff who pride themselves on providing the highest level of service to members and their guests.  The success and atmosphere of the club is no coincidence as it is perhaps the best and most enjoyable real tennis club in the world.

We urge all members to contemplate contributing to the annual Staff Gratuity Fund.  The purpose of the fund is to enable members, who individually wish to do so, to show their appreciation for the efforts of the staff throughout the year.

This fund is the only source from which our staff can receive additional recognition from those who have enjoyed the Club.

Contributions can be made by emailing Helen in our office  at or calling on 03 9429 9009 or by filling out the contributions form by clicking: <contributions form>

I hope you will be able to show your appreciation of their efforts by giving generously.  You contribution will be very much appreciated.

Feel Like Touring The USA In 2017?
The Australian under 26 team will be heading to the USA next year to compete in the biennial match against the USA for the Clothier Cup and the Limb Cup match vs the UK youth team.  The matches will be held in Boston 10-15 July.  Our players may also wish to take in the USA u23 and u26 Championships, July 7-9 in Philadelphia.  There will be opportunities to visit other clubs if desired.

ARTA is seeking expressions of interest from people who would like to be the team manager.  Key duties are to ensure the team gets to its appointed venues on time (not always easy!), help organise the trip in advance and provide advice and support to the team.  Occasional public speaking duties are also required.  The trip will be made at the manager’s own expense but our team and manager are billeted throughout their visit and you will be a guest at most (if not all) social functions.

Essential qualities include a good dose of patience, strong organisational skills, previous experience of visiting overseas tennis clubs and a decent understanding of the game.  If you’re interested, please contact ARTA Chair of Tennis Alistair Curley by 9 Dec on 0409 217 495.

You are invited to celebrate with Rob from 7pm Saturday 7th January at the RACV City Club, 501 Bourke Street, Melbourne. $130 per person. RSVP: Friday 16th December to

Parent and Offspring Handicap Doubles Tournament – Sunday 27 Nov
On the 27th of November, 10 teams participated in the Parent and offspring handicap doubles tournament. The day was a success with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. Each team played 4 matches, and on the south court the Munro’s (Scottish sensations) won 61.8% of there games with the marvellous Moran’s doing the same which led them to make the semis. On the south court, the Butler’s and the McCahey’s came through to make the semis also.

In the semis an upset occurred as the Butler’s smashed the Munro’s 6/1. However the Moran’s got the job done beating the McCahey’s. In a thrilling final the Moran’s took out the prestigious title.
