Upcoming Tournaments
School Holiday Junior (U16) Clinics – Tuesday & Thursday, 5th & 7th July
School holidays are on us again, this week for some and next week for others but at least the week of the 5th and 7th of July for all. Why not bring your little ones in for an hour; we’ll play games, hit tennis balls and introduce your children to this beautiful game. You may even have a future world champion when you get home.

Christmas in July Mixed Handicap Doubles – Sunday 10th July
It’s that time again, we’re almost half way through the year, the weather’s cooled down and those of us more accustomed to the cooler climes of the Northern Hemisphere are itching to get into the kitchen and prepare a piping hot feast to keep us warm. Unfortunately we’re not in the Northern Hemisphere but don’t worry, the Royal Melbourne Tennis Club has you covered with the Christmas in July Mixed Handicap Doubles including Christmas lunch. Contact the pro shop or come in to sign up and join the festivities.

RMTC vs MCCRTS – Sunday 24th July
The RMTC home leg of the competition against the MCC Real Tennis Section is coming up, we are looking for players for both teams. If you have a foot in either camp, or even better both. Sign up in the Club or contact the pro shop to get involved.

New Pennant Seasons coming in August
Interested in playing some weekly competitive tennis? There are 3 spots left in the C Special (30-40) Pennant running on Tuesday nights starting 2nd August. Contact the pro shop to test your mettle (among other things including your handicap and your culinary expertise) against other keen tennis players.

Tournoi Des Tripots 2016 – 29th Sept – 4th Oct – UPDATE
According to the organisers this tournament is almost full so if you’re interested contact the organisers ASAP.
If you are interested in playing in the 3-court Real Tennis handicap doubles tournament planned for this year in South West France, please save the dates 29th September – 4th October. The tournament is scheduled not to conflict with any other events in the European Real Tennis calendar, the French Open (19–25th September), The Wellington Opening Event (23–25th September) and the Queen’s Autumn Handicap Weekend (6–9th October).

A NOTE FROM THE KITCHEN
Evie Coutts

As many at the Club may be aware, my mum has been very ill these past 3 months, resulting in her having her left arm amputated below the elbow, due to inoperable cancer. It has been a very traumatic, and difficult time for us. Mum is now recovering, and doing well, despite the long road ahead.

I would just like to say a big thank you to the Club, and the members who have been extremely supportive, kind and helpful during this time. I apologise for the disruption to the kitchen the last few weeks, and I am very grateful for everyone’s patience, while I continue to care for mum.

Thank you
Evie Coutts
