Junior Clinics (u16) – Tues & Thur 11 & 13 July
Junior clinics are back again this school holidays for those under 16. Help us grow the best game in the world. Grab your children and/or collar some passing stray on the street, let us work our magic and in 10 years you could be telling everyone that you’re responsible for the next world champion. Clinics will run in hour blocks at 9:30 and 10:30 on both days.

Christmas in July Mixed Doubles – Sun 16 July
It’s that time of year again, the weather is getting cooler and the days shorter. Time to bring the games indoors and join them with a nice warm fire (possibly digital) and a scrumptious roast feast (definitely not digital). Come into the club to sign up or contact the pro shop.

RMTC vs MCCRTS Pennant Match (Ballarat) – Sat 22 July
The away leg of the biannual competition between the RMTC and the MCC tennis club is coming up. This will be in Ballarat with a dinner to celebrate Andrew Fowler’s return as the rightful heir to the throne of ‘the Rat’. It should be a good day of tennis and even better night of food, wine and merriment. Currently both teams are looking for players, contact the pro shop to sign up.

Australian Ladies Amateur Singles and Doubles Championships and Judith Clarke Cup – Fri-Sun 16-18 Jun
Congratulations to all the ladies who made the trek to Hobart to contest the Judith Clarke Cup and the ladies singles and doubles, bringing back a significant portion of the silverware on offer. Particular congratulations to Jo See Tan for winning her first Australian amateur singles title and Rose Blanden for taking out the doubles with partner Jo Edwards.

The Judith Clarke Cup was won with a dominant showing by the whole RMTC team on the first two days, winning 7 of a possible 8 rubbers on Friday and Saturday. The final result was RMTC df. HRTC 8/5

The Australian Ladies Amateur Singles Championship was won by our very own Jo See Tan who defeated Rose Blanden in a very tense and tight affair in the semi-final before going on to take the title in straight sets against Jo Edwards. It was a well-deserved reward for the hard work that she has been putting into tennis over the last 12 months.
JS Tan df. J Edwards 6/1 6/3

The Australian Ladies Amateur Doubles Championship was another close match with Rose Blanden and Jo Edwards finally taking the title having undertaken a immense comeback in the final set to get over Jo See Tan and Julianne Drewitt.
R Blanden/J Edwards df. JS Tan/J Drewitt 6/3 2/6 6/5

Australian Amateur Junior Singles Championship – Sat-Sun 17-18 Jun
Michael Williams won his third Australian junior title with a dominant display to win in straight sets over Will Hoskin from Ballarat.
M Williams df. W Hoskin 6/1 6/0

Alan Hamer Cup Club Doubles – Sat 17 Jun
Kieran Booth and Daniel Williams won their third club doubles title in a row beating the spirited pairing of Michael Williams and Paul Rosedale. There were many spectacular rests, particularly in the closely fought second set, but the class of Kieran combined with the calmness of Daniel was enough to see off any serious threat.
K Booth/D Williams df. M Williams/P Rosedale 6/1 6/4 6/3
